The Pacific war was a much larger theatre than the Atlantic war, and because of its lateness in the war, the US had almost no defences against Japanese air attacks and command of the air was irrelevant – perhaps Japan’s single greatest military success.
US and the British Empire had been completely outclassed by Axis Germany. Despite the US’ entry into the war the US was still poor to the point of being blind and ignorant to the capabilities of the Imperial Japanese Navy.
The US navy in the Pacific was an absolute joke. Not only did the Americans deploy obsolete and under-armed vessels but due to political nepotism many of the navy’s more capable vessels had been transferred to other nations, resulting in the US having little to offer in the way of logistics and virtually no combat vessels in the form of destroyers or cruisers.
The US war plan called for the US navy to simply steam into Japanese waters under the protection of the aircraft carriers P and US, in a move known as the “Delaying Action”, where US forces would stop Japan from concentrating its operations and allowing the US to mobilize the large reserves of men, ships and resources that would later be crucial to the war’s victory. The US’ strategy was generally accepted by the many allies of the US, including the British navy, who had no obvious interest in taking part in the “Delaying Action”.
It is for this reason that it is so important that the US’ navy deploy resources to other areas, above all to the US’ Middle East naval base at the Galapagos islands, on the west coast of South America.
These tasks would be carried out under Admiral Chester W. Nimitz. The US needed to make sure that it would have a reserve of ships, aircraft and men to not only defend the Galapagos bases but to mobilize to help any allies that felt threatened by the Imperial Japanese Navy.
The British Navy, the Royal Australian Navy, the Royal Canadian Navy, and the Royal New Zealand Navy all laid down on their respective shores, expecting a waiting enemy. Churchill’s iron fist had been taken off the iron rail, and the British Empire was about to face a war that it had tried to avoid.
The Royal Australian Navy mustered thirty-eight vessels and 1,500 personnel, mainly to defend the northern coast of Australia and New Guinea, to guard the sea lanes between Australia and the Panama Canal, to protect Allied shipping and troops in the Pacific, and to supplement the British Home

Japanese Version of Battleships & Carriers War – World War 2″I’m so sorry,” I said. “I love you, too. You’re the most wonderful man in the world.” (She was a lefty, the only lefty in England.)
Afterward, I felt as though I’d betrayed her to some unseen enemy.
This was no different than the suborning of a formerly loyal servant.
Truly, there is nothing more corrosive than a woman who is not worthy of loyalty.
So this weekend, I had the great privilege of witnessing the first unassisted handover of the Oval Office from a man to a woman in the history of our nation.
Yes, it was an easy victory. No one put up a fight. (Donald Trump; Melania; Melania’s critics.)
But I watched, with a kind of awe and wonder, as this gold-leaf

Hover drones are being modified to become weapons carrying
aircraft. In the 1920’s the
Britannia Class Battleships were fitted with 500mm
cannons to allow them to fire on shore targets and they were followed by the Iowa Class Battleships,
which had a heavier 4.5 inch dual-purpose
gun, capable of firing in both anti-aircraft and anti-shipping roles, the Pensacola class –
18 DEGs whose purpose was to take heavy bombers
on target. Today the South Korean Navy are
also combining hover drones with the use of missiles – to engage high-speed

Although the carriers push the envelope of naval capability and actually
provide the offensive capacity of the Navy, the focus of carrier aviation is on
defence. Carrier Sea Harriers are a small but highly effective fighting force
and despite the
conversation on their demise, the numbers
of Naval Air Squadrons will remain in the 100-110 bracket.
A squadron consists of 12 Sea Harriers,
flying 20-minute operations, 150 sorties and 12-hour deployments.
This has the effect of very
light intervals between flights and, although it is difficult to sustain
this kind of schedule with more
than one sea squadron, the concept is not to be discounted,
it is more the practical
reality that is being considered.

During the Second World War the US

the Essex Class, in 1943-44, was built around the

Aquarium is a game without voices, though there is a soundtrack. Instead, its gameplay is conveyed entirely through a series of uniquely captivating graphics that tease the imagination as much as they enchant the eye.
Aquarium is the brainchild of Markus ‘hasugio’ Deckers, a painter and designer from Cologne, Germany. His art style is realism-inflected yet playful, matching the slightly dystopian backdrop with a humoristic take on things like aquatic flora and fauna.
The game features nine labyrinths with five ‘levels’ within each labyrinth. These levels all have a similar design but evolve somewhat as the levels go along. You can unlock new, more adventurous levels by finding and saving the 20 ‘budbuds’ floating throughout the game. Budbuds give you a power point which enables you to enter special levels.
The game features a couple of controls. You either drag and drop the joystick or make button
